Parishes Mission Statement

As Members of the St. Bridget and St. Stanislaus Kostka parishes of West Rutland, we reach out to our community through faith, prayer and service, and respond with compassion to the spiritual and corporal needs of all.

About Our Parishes

St. Bridget and St. Stanislaus Kostka churches are nestled in the beautiful foothills of the Green Mountains. Located in the quaint town of West Rutland, Vermont, these churches have served area Catholics for over 150 years.  An area once rich in Marble deposits, West Rutland became home to many people of diverse cultures.

These cultures gave rise to the rich histories of St. Bridget and St. Stanislaus Kostka Parishes.  We invite you to come and experience our parishes as we join together as one Catholic family in the worship of our Father.

2018 Synod Preparation

Bishop Coyne wants your help in planning the Diocese of Burlington’s 2018 Synod. All are invited to be part of the conversation as we seek to discern God’s will for the Church in Vermont.

As our Parishes have gone through quite some changes recently we have run out of time to participate collectively in a parish listening session. However, there are alternative ways in which you can share your views.  Offer a response to one of these three questions:

  1. As the Catholic Church in Vermont, what are we doing well?
  2. What are we doing that we should be doing better?
  3. What are we not doing that we should be doing?

* Go online and give your input at www.vermontcatholic.org/synod with the digital survey link. You may also access the survey link through the westrutlandchurches.org website.

*   If you don’t have access to the internet, you can send a response to the three questions, typed or neatly hand written, to Diocesan Synod, 55 Joy Drive, South Burlington, VT 05403.

*Attend one of the regional listening sessions that Bishop Coyne will hold around the diocese (locations and dates are to be announced). There will be further parish sessions in 2018.
